What is SmarterX?
Have you ever thought of running your application software on more than one computer using only one of your USB dongle keys? Well, we have specially designed USB device sharing Hubs that allow you to do just that.
The Hub (SmarterX), when is used with your dongle, gives you the ability to run simultaneously several copies of your legally purchased application software on multiple computers sharing a single USB dongle key. It is a unique dongle sharing device on the market today.
In order to stay within the terms of your license you should configure SmarterX to limit the number of simultaneous users equal to the number of licenses (dongles) you own. If you have one dongle you should set the device to operate in the single user mode (that is, one user at a time).

Stop moving your dongle around
Moving a dongle around between computers is kind of pain and requires lots of fumbling around under the desk. The dongle must be track down and disconnected from the parallel or USB port and it can be easily lost or stolen if it is constantly moved.
SmarterX offers you a neat solution to the above problems by providing a virtual and concurrent connection between the dongle and computers attached to the device. Since the dongle remains permanently attached to SmarterX the problems highlighted above are eliminated.

Please note: SmarterX is a hardware based solution and requires no software or driver installation on your PC.
Important Note: Depending on the make and model of the dongle and the application software, SmarterX can allow concurrent running of application software on multiple machines accessing a node-locked dongle. You could be in violation of your license agreement if the number of concurrent users exceeds the number of dongles you own.
Each SmarterX device can be configured by the user to set a limit to the number of simultaneous users that device can allow. It is important to

You can use “USB Over Network” software to connect a remote computer to the SmarterX (wired versions) via your local area network or even via internet connection. You can run two copies of your licensed software on two computers at the same time using only one of your licensed dongles.
The device has a configurable switch so that the user can set the device to operate in a single user mode (that is one user at the time). This feature is provided so that a user with only one dongle can use the device legally and within the terms of his/her license agreement.
This two port device works with most makes of USB dongles and other USB devices.
When using standard USB A/B cables the distance between the device and the remote computers can be up to 10 meters long. However, this distance can be increased to around 40 meters (120 feet) when using a low cost USB active extender.
Access to the device via Internet or local area network is also possible when using "USB Over Network" software. In this instance there is no limit to how far your remote computer is situated.

SmaretrX-NET is a cable free device (wireless). It connects to your computers via your LAN network.
The device effectively transforms your node-lock dongle into a network dongle with capability to allow up to five users to run your application simultaneously.
Any user connected to your local network can run the application, with up to five users at the same time. However, depending on the number of dongles to own you can setup the device to limit the number of concurrent users in order to stay within the terms of your license. An integrated user selectable BCD switch enables you to easily configure the device.
If you have local network (LAN) within your office or in your building then this is the device for you. You can plug it into your network hub or network switch and every computer user on your network can see between one to five identical copies of your dongle depending on the device configuration setup.
Each computer requires a control center utility installed, which only takes few seconds. It runs permanently in the background and loads a quick access icon in the system tray.
The control center opens with a view of all five virtual copies of your dongle available to all users on the network.

Share your parallel port hardware key (dongle) or your printer between four users.
This device works with most makes of parallel port dongles. Your dongle is automatically available to four users running the same application software at the same time*.
A user selectable BCD switch allows the user to limit the number of concurrent users.
SmarterX is transparent to other dongles. That means several dongles can be attached to the device and shared by multiple users.
The device can be operated at a distance of 30 meters (100 feet) from a remote computer. A standard parallel port data cable can be used to connect the device to a computer. We can supply suitable data cables and extension cables of various lengths.
